Today brings a bit of bad news from Unwed Sailor’s fall booking agent:
“I’m very sorry to say this, but due to personal circumstances beyond anyone’s control Unwed Sailor has been forced to cancel their entire tour. The reasons are far complicated and I don’t even know half of it, but certain members of the band were at the last minute unable to be a part of this tour. Due to loss of these members, there is absolutely no way Johnathon or the rest of the guys can continue this tour.
There is nothing Johnathon and the rest of the guys wanted more than to be out there playing these shows. We were expecting these to be some of the best shows to date as the band just finished successful tours with Murder By Death, Appleseed Cast and MeWithoutYou. The response to this tour so far has been amazing and the amount of press and promotion that went into the tour by the band, their label, you guys has been very strong.
The band promises to move on and get back on their feet as soon as possible and re-schedule these dates in the next couple of months.
Thank you very much for understanding.”

The White Ox has officially been released! Of course, what that means is that you can now take home your very own ox from the Unwed Sailor cattle farm, conveniently accessible through the clever guise of an online band merchandise store, right here. Take home a beautiful, plump white ox today, and while you’re at it, take a look at the new tour dates! Also, if you’re interested in helping promote one of the fall/winter shows on the upcoming touring stint, please contact Johnathon, and he’ll get you some promotional materials, along with a free ticket to the show in exchange for your help!
Greetings, dear followers of the still-happily-Unwed Sailor. If you’ll notice, below, four out of the past five news updates have been made to announce new tour dates. So, to further keep you on the edge of your seats with this site’s relentless spontaneity, I am happy to announce another round of new and revised dates! We are setting new standards for all other bands on earth. You think your band tours a lot? Well, good sir or ma’am, whichever you may be, you must be living in some sort of alternate reality, where petty things like “sanity” and “rest” exist. So be proud, my minions. We are followers of a winning team!…or something really great and inspiring like that. Now go look at the dates.
Another brief tidbit of news: The Marionette and the Music Box LP has officially sold out, which is good in that they sold like the dickens, and yet saddening because any of you who wants it now is simply a lost soul in search of a resting place which no longer exists. However, you can still purchase the album in the magnificent hardbound book & CD format in the online store, right here, so there’s really no need to mourn for long.
Those of you who have taken a glance at the tour section lately may be wondering, “Hey, what’s with that giant hole at the beginning of September? I thought Unwed Sailor was an unstoppable touring beast, and yet there’s no dates for, like, three weeks!” Well, fear not, my friends. Never ones in favor of silly things like “rest” and “food,” the band has now filled part of that gap with a handful of dates with The Appleseed Cast and the frighteningly-titled Murder By Death. Go look for yourself.
